October trip: Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, San Francisco!

For my first week of holiday I decided to travel alone.

Being alone can be scary, especially while traveling in places you've never been to, but I'm an adventurous soul, I'm not scared of meeting new people and I had the chance to spend every day with a different person from a different part of the world and that was the best thing of my trip!

Anyway let's start the story from the very beginning...

I took an Uber for the RDU Airport on Saturday morning at 6.30am and after a good Starbucks coffee I reached the gate to get on my plane. The pilot was really funny and he made some jokes before leaving, while the last two passengers where taking their seats: guess what, they were next to me!

"Are you already drunk?" they asked me, before giggling. They were very excited about their trip to the Sin City so was I.

Flying above Utah, Colorado and Arizona I had the chance to see some amazing landscapes, but I couldn't wait to arrive.

5 hours later I landed in Las Vegas and I grabbed an airport shuttle ($16) outside Terminal 1 that dropped me off at my hotel and picked me up the day of my departure (that's the cheapest way to reach the hotel, with any taxi or uber it'd be 40$ just for one way).

I reached the Golden Spike Hotel in Downtown, I left my suitcase there for free and I went to a good tour of the city.

I took the Deuce bus (24hours ticket for 8$) to reach the Strip, the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign, the Strip again and my hotel.

I spent the day with Federica, an italian au pair who was celebrating her birthday in Las Vegas, we had a tour of the Bellagio, the Venetians and the High Roller, we saw some of the most amazing Casino ever and had a lot of fun through the street of the craziest city I've ever been to.

After this amazing - and long - first day, it was time for my second adventure: the Grand Canyon! As you can see on my bucket list  it was the number one and I can't explain how incredible was to be there.

Now I'm gonna tell you everything about it!

I booked the tour from this website  and I payed 86$ for the South Rim Bus Tour. They picked me up at my hotel at 5.45am and they dropped me off at midnight, they gave me lunch at the Visitor Center before entering the National Park.

The bus tour was great and I had the chance to meet some interesting people: Caitlin from New Jersey traveling with her sweet mum, and Antonio, a German guy visiting the USA for 6 weeks.

We had a great time on the bus (11-12 hours are a lot) and we shared the epic moment of seeing the amazing Canyon for the first time: I was speechless in front of it.

The last destination of my trip was San Francisco, one of the most beautiful cities in California and even though the weather was terrible - due to a fire in Napa - I had a great time and I felt in love with it.

I had a reservation at the Green Tortoise Hostel -  my first hostel ever - and there I met a ton of wonderful people, everyone with their own stories and their own plans for the journey: F., an Australian girl who was making the tour of the world in 6 months (you rock girl!), A., a German girl that didn't wanted to go back home (I'm sorry girl, I'll eat a bagel for you tomorrow), R., from Netherlands, enjoying her free time on the West Coast (thank you for all the card games girl) and A., from France, making a tour of California just with her backpack and no plans (you're so brave girl)!

I did a lot of things during the four days that I spent there and here's the list:

- I saw the iconical Lombard Street;

- I walked from Pier 39 to the Embarcadero during the sunset;

- I tried the chowder for the first time (loved it!);

- I made the Alcatraz Tour($50);

- I rent a bike to cross the Golden Gate Bridge;

- I visited Central Park, Painted Ladies, Mission Dolores Park, the Castro District and climbed Corona Heights
